Beat up special has no hitboxes on it if Mega Man isn't shooting, and even then the hitboxes don't reach above Mega Man, leaving him vulnerable to gimps and meteors. Strong projectiles such as forward smash, up aerial, and down aerial can be reflected at Mega Man, making them dangerous to use against opponents with reflectors. Leaf Shield down special can block some projectiles and the move itself can become a projectile by throwing the shield away, which can be effect for spacing the move deals some damage with the leaves as well, which can rack up damage quickly during a grab or jab-lock opponents, even gimping opponents. Beat up special has great vertical distance and during recovery Mega Man can fire small bullets from his Mega Buster to cover himself during recovery. Crash Bomb side special sticks to opponents before exploding it causes enough hitstun to make it effective for continuing combos when combined with a smash attack, Crash Bomb's explosion can break an opponent's shield. Metal Blade can be thrown in eight directions and has good range it is great for kill setups, edge-guards, combos, and zoning. Has a good variety of single-hit and multi-hit moves. Down tilt moves across the ground a good distance, allowing it to be used for approaches. Jab and forward tilt have high priority. Versatile projectile game effective zoner.
